The Bentley Bichon Family

The Bichon's are quite the family. Grandma Gracee does all she can to avoid the puppies...Momma Jewels is mostly tired of nursing them but is still watching her brood very carefully. The puppies are now 6 weeks old and will hopefully be finding homes in a couple of weeks.

The Hunt For Lowder Creek

The Hunt for Lowder Creek Saturday 7-7-7 we loaded up our picnic and fishing gear and to the north we went. We stopped at Panguitch Lake and got bored real quick. We decided to see if we could find a little creek we fished on when we were college students at Southern Utah University some thirty years ago. In the mind it could be visualized but how to get there exactly was not clicking. We took a few side roads but nothing looked right... We finally got to Cedar Breaks and in the Visitor's Center we found a National Geographic map that showed it. The Park Ranger guided us a little a off course but we found a beautiful little creek but it was not Lowder Creek but we had fun and caught a few beautiful little brookies.

The widely known Puddle Jumper Heaton had left his key on and the Yamaha Rhino had to give him a pull to allow him to have some ATV fun.

Quake Lake Montana

Looking at Mountain Goats above the Quake Lake observatory

Virginia City, Montana

Peggy Sue and John Donnelly... you'd think he had just saved her from another asthma attack! I wonder if Scott got a hug like that from Suzanna?

I didn't get my candy bag......
Josh and Darci with their cache of candy. It was $27.95 at this point. Ryan, Natalie and baby Frisby in the foreground.

The kids following their visit to the candy store. There is gold in them thar bags.

Off to the left is Suzananna Donnelly... She already spent her paycheck in the candy store.

Maddy outside the candy store with her 1st sucker!

Look at those saloon girls and other pilgrims ready for the family photo!

Halee and Walter

Miss Halee caught "Walter" at the kids fishing pond in Virginia City Montana. She squealed like a little pig. But talk about proud and did she ever let her brothers know who was boss.

Halee and her fish "Walter". She was one happy 8 year old. Out fished her brothers and Grandpa caught 4 on the snake the day before that equaled this one.

Down River

Looking down river from the Big Springs bridge. The big fish lie right under where we are taking this picture from. The Gulls lay in wait for some bread or other treat.

A pix of Big Springs

Big Springs Idaho in Island Park Idaho. Here is a non-fishing area and the trout are huge. We come here each visit to see the big fish.

Griffin and Caden got all rigged up and had the air soft guns. It was a perfect battlefield at the Lairds Cabin in Island Park Idaho.

Claire & Peppe

Well, it was Memorial Day Weekend and our 2nd week of taking care of our granddaughter Claire. One of her favorite things to do was go for a ride on Peppe with Grandpa Bentley. Grandma got some candid snapshots of the event.

Claire and Grandpa out for a little drive on Peppe our little mule. Claire thinks she is hot stuff when she gets to get on Grandpa's truck as she calls it. She would just sit back and look at everything when we were on our ride.

Claire has the look... Just wait until I get old enough to drive this thing....

Claire Bear

Grandma got Claire all bathed up and decked out for the day. So Miss Claire got all posed in her Monkey Chair Grandma had to buy. For sure she knows when the camera is out!

Claire and Jewels each trying each other to see if the word "tolerant" exists. They have had a time getting used to who is the boss. Jewels intimidates and but in the morning gives here kisses.

Hey Turkey Turkey

It was a cool May morning... Scott and Danny were out on Peppe (the rhino) in search to a Tom Turkey... in the distance the two eagle eyed hunters spotted a group foraging along... they kicked the Rhino in high and the chase was on... a little slow on the trigger and a case of Turkey Fever, Danny jammed his brand new Remington 870 Super Magnum... Ole Tom Turkey was off the other side of the pond keeping a eye on his flock of girls...the other boy turkeys ran off to the tree's. Scott leaped from ole Peppe and was on a stalking mission to get the Old Tom... his plan worked and one shot with his 870 Super Mag and turkey soup was in the bag!

Boys and their Toys

The new toy to get us out of town...

Grandstaircase Escalante National Monument

Molly's Nipple a land mark in the south end of the GSENM. It is a huge rock that can be seen for hundreds of miles.

Looking North from a flat butte we call Trophy Knoll know this for the many huge mule deer taken from the area. We had lunch a hundred yards back from this point. We took Peppe out on his first real test.

This rock sits by itself off the path near Park Wash and the Kitchen Corrals on the monument. you can see some of the work the ancients did. On top of it some of what our generation did to it...
